Low Cost Spay / Neuter Vouchers

"The Humane Society of Tom Green County offers low cost spay/neuter vouchers once a month. These vouchers are offered on a first-come/first-serve basis, and we do have a limited amount to offer. You may purchase one per household per month. The cost of the vouchers are: $25/cat and $35/dog. This is the total cost that you pay to have your pet altered. Once you purchase the voucher from the Humane Society, you then have 60 days to call and make an appointment with the participating vet. Please visit our Calendar for exact times and dates. Thank you, and thank you for spaying and neutering your pet."

Pure Breed Rescue and Referral

The Humane Society works with animal rescue organizations across the U.S. to insure that every adoptable animal has a chance for a new life, ranging from Weimeraner rescue in Dallas, TX to Dachshund rescue in Kerrville, TX to Chow rescue in California. Our volunteers rescue animals, contact the rescue organizations, and arrange for transport to that facility. We are in constant need of transportation. If you would like to help with rescue transport, please email us at Info@HumaneSocietyTGC.com and sign up for Volunteer Information so you can receive Transportation requests.

Microchipping

All Humane Society of Tom Green County companion pets are microchipped before being placed into an adoptive family. If you would like to have your pet microchipped by HSTGC, please call 653-8056 to find out when our next microchipping service will be offered. Please visit our Microchipping page to find out why you should microchip your companion animals.

Free Flea & Tick Dips

The Humane Society offers free flea and tick dips during the summer months. Check out our Calendar for more details.

Second Chance Adoptions

Humane Society urges pet owners to first contact us concerning their unwanted pets, rather than relinquish them directly to the City Animal Shelter, where they will most likely be euthanized. New homes are screened by us to find a perfect match while the owner continues to care for the animal. This program is new, and all animals accepted into the program must be spayed or neutered and current on rabies vaccine. You can help this effort by letting people know they need not destroy their pets, they deserve a second chance. For more information and a Second Chance Adoption Contract, visit our Adoption page.

Pet Memorials & Cremation Services

Your pet is important to you. You have loved them, and you miss their presence in your life once they have passed. Express your love and the reward of pet ownership through your pet memorial. The HSTGC offers a professional, caring, and dignified pet cremation service for pet owners. Classically styled urns and containers are available with a certified letter of cremation. Proceeds from the pet memorials and cremations program help fund our life-saving projects to assist the companion animals of our community.

Community Outreach

The Humane Society wants to make our community a better place for people and animals. Promoting responsible pet ownership and humane treatment of animals is something we practice every day. We strongly promote the importance of spaying and neutering as well. The HSTGC attends public events throughout the year to discuss animal safety and pet ownership. We also speak at various group and club events. Please call today to make an appointment for us to visit your organization: (325)653-8056.
