HSTGC offers the following programs:
Foster Program
The Humane Society of Tom Green County is in constant need of quality foster homes for the dogs and cats we rescue. Approved fosters give adoptable animals an extended chance at adoption by caring for them in their own home. The goal of each adoptable pet is to find a "forever home."
To become a foster parent, a temporary foster takes a rescued animal into their home, providing food, water, and love. The Humane Society supply's emergency medical care, and we promote the animal for adoption on our website. We do all of the legwork for providing the animal placement, asking only that the foster family bring their animal to adoption events for introduction to prospective adoptive families and to other various Humane Society events.

Educational Program
The Humane Society strives to make our community a better place for people and animals. We work with elementary school children and teach them responsible pet ownership, humane treatment of animals, dog bite prevention, and the importance of spaying and neutering pets. We also have essay and drawing contests at the end of the school year.
