Help
Us Help Animals.
Become a Volunteer!
Volunteers play an integral role in the care and well-being
of the animals at the Humane Society. Volunteer Opportunities are
available in all areas of shelter operations. Whether you are interested
in socializing cats, walking dogs, assisting with adoptions or helping
with fundraising efforts, we have a job for you!
Requirements:
Volunteers MUST attend a volunteer orientation!
Orientations are held on the first Saturday of every month at 10 a.m.
in the Humane Society located at 3142 US Hwy 67 N (Ballinger/Abilene
Hwy), San Angelo, TX 76905. Orientation will typically require two
and a half hours of your time, and you are invited to spend the rest
of the day volunteering.
The Next Orientation:
Please visit our Calendar
for Orientation dates and times.
Long pants, closed toed shoes, and a short or long sleeve shirt are
required. Volunteers are asked to donate $20. This fee covers volunteer
handouts and volunteer insurance. Please
Note: Volunteers
MUST be 18 or older to volunteer unchaperoned at the Humane Society.
All children under the age of 18 must be in the presence of a parent
or guardian who is volunteering with them at ALL times, unless otherwise

be 12 or over in order to walk shelter dogs. All volunteers are
required to donate 5 hours of time per month for a minimum of 3
